Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella balls ciliegine or bocconcini
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Balsamic glaze drizzle
  • Toothpicks or small appetizer skewers

Instructions

  • Rinse the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves. Drain the mozzarella balls well.
  • Assemble each skewer by threading 1 cherry tomato, 1 basil leaf, and 1 mozzarella ball.
  • Arrange the skewers on a serving platter.
  • Drizzle lightly with olive oil and season with salt and black pepper.
  • Drizzle with balsamic glaze just before serving.

Notes

Assemble up to 2 hours in advance; add balsamic glaze right before serving.
Use multicolored cherry tomatoes for a festive look.
Optional variation: wrap the mozzarella with a small piece of prosciutto before skewering.
